Luton Town vs Hartlepool United - Hatters team news

Steve Howard comes back to face his old club after serving a one-match suspension last Saturday for picking up five bookings this season. However, Keith Keane looks likely to start at right-back as Kevin Foley is away on Ireland U-21 duty.

Dean Brill is out of contention for the bench after picking up an injury in the midweek 3-0 reserve team win over Northampton, so Robert Beckwith looks likely to be sub goalkeeper. Marlon Beresford is still out with a groin injury.

The only other player who will definitely miss out is defender Dave Bayliss, whos last appearance in a proper game was the Carling Cup defeat to Charlton last year. Alan Neilson and Russ Perrett are available, but are almost certain not to be risked because of a lack of match fitness.

Newell is unlikely to change the team much from the unbeaten team who have competed this season so far, especially not against his former club who sacked him last May.
