Boyd: Thought to be close to signing for Luton
The rumours have started after Newell told the official website that someone is close to being brought to the club. However, he did not say that Adam Boyd was the player he was close to signing and refused to say who it was.

Newell has told the official website (www.lutontown.co.uk)."I haven't been told how much money is available for transfers, but we have an offer in for a player so there is obviously some money available.

"Considering what I have spent over the past few months, I will be wondering how much I will get. I am not going to be asking for millions of pounds, but I will be asking for an amount."

Because of the recent departure of striker Steve Howard, it is likely that the player being brought in is a striker. Luton currently only have three recognised forwards, Rowan Vine, Warren Feeney and Calvin Andrew. However, Dean Morgan and Ahmet Brkovic can play up front in an emergency. Nevertheless, the departure of Howard brought in good money for the club but also left us with no good goalscorer. If Adam Boyd does sign, then hopefully that will change.
