Welling V Luton at Park View Road - Match Preview

Pires missing for Welling

Welling are expected to be without midfielder Loick Pires for the clash with Luton in the first round of the FA Cup.

The 23-year-old missed last weekend's 1-0 victory over Lincoln after picking up injuries to his ankle and calf in training. He looks likely to miss out once again against the Hatters.

Influential striker Ross Lafayette came off the bench in the second half of Saturday's win following a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Wings boss Jamie Day could restore Lafayette to the starting line-up on Saturday.

Luton boss John Still has plenty to ponder ahead of the cup clash.

Andre Gray was forced out of last weekend's goalless draw at Gateshead with a hamstring injury while fellow forward Alex Wall picked up a similar complaint in Tuesday's Development clash against West Ham.

Both miss out along with striker Jon Shaw (calf) and winger Shaun Whalley (hamstring) while Anthony Charles remains a doubt due to his knock.

Midfielders Alex Lawless and Jim Stevenson have, however, been passed fit for the encounter while boss Still must decide who out of Elliot Justham or Mark Tyler will start in goal.
