Transfer Rumours at Kenilworth Road

Rowan Vine looks set to stay at Kenilworth Road, as Hull City manager Peter Taylor is opting to sign Nick Chadwick to bolster his striking options. Vine, currently on loan from Portsmouth, was rumoured to be off to Hull City for £190k, but Taylor saw him in the Hatters defeat at Walsall and was unimpressed.

Newell is still interested in bringing Gary McSheffrey back to Kenilworth Road on a permanent deal after loan spells earlier this season and last season. However, Gary is in the Coventry City squad for the weekend game against high-flying Wigan and he also featured in the Coventry reserves defeat to Spurs.

There are also rumours that left-sided Peterborough player Andy Legg is being targeted by Mike Newell. The 38-year old player coach has been criticised by certain sections of Peterborough fans in recent weeks, but since he has been transfer listed a number of clubs have made inquiries about the long throw specialist, including fellow promotion challengers Brentford and Tranmere.
