Talbot still out for Toffees match

Last updated : 31 October 2007 By Peter Bulkeley
After Saturday's 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, it looks like manager Kevin Blackwell has decided to stick with the same team that was victorious on Saturday. This means that Chris Perry will continue in his role as right-back, a role that saw him score his first goal for Luton on Saturday, with Richard Jackson dropped to the bench. There will also be room for only one striker, as Drew Talbot, Sam Parkin and Paul Peschisolido are all still out. Although Furlong is clearly going to play as a lone striker, David Bell and Darren "Linford" Currie will be running forward to support him. with Spring, Edwards and Robinson in central midfield. Due to no loan goalkeeper being brought in yet, Dean Brill will deservedly remain in goal for Luton. Matthew Spring has also been interviewed in the Guardian Unlimited, saying that it would be great to get to a League Cup Final with Luton, and Blackwell from the same source has also said that after this match, there will only be three games left until the final. Calm down boys, they are 9th in the Premier League, plus they knocked us out of the cup this time last year as well.

Everton are likely to field quite a strong side for tonight's match, but there are some key players that are going to miss out for David Moyes' side.
Andy Johnson
Johnson: Out tonight's match
Summer signing Leighton Baines is unavailable because of an ankle injury picked up in Sunday's win against Derby County. Another key absentee for Everton is former Luton reject Andy Johnson, whereas Mikael Arteta has a slight calf strain which means he will probably miss out tonight, as he is unlikely to be risked against us. Other than those players and goalkeeper Iain Turner, David Moyes has a full squad to choose from. Tony Hibbert and Phil Neville are available again after being sent off in the home defeat to Liverpool. The Everton squad also contains England defender Joleon Lescott, James McFadden, Tim Cahill, Thomas Gravesen and Yakubu, so Everton aren't exactly taking this competition lightly, despite still being in the UEFA Cup.
