Talbot out for start of next season

Talbot was stretchered off at the end of the Cheltenham home match last week with what looked like a serious knee injury, and that has proved to be the case, as Drew has now been ruled out for at least six months with cruciate ligament damage, and he may be out for as many as nine months. The 21-year old striker signed for Luton in January 2007 and has scored just two goals this season, in addition to the three goals he scored for the Hatters last season.

The injury leaves Luton with just Ryan Charles, Sam Parkin and Calvin Andrew as the fully fit strikers in the squad, with possibly Paul Furlong approaching full fitness soon. Talbot cost Luton £250,000 when he signed from Sheffield Wednesday last January, and hopefully he can get back to full fitness soon.
