Spireites sign Holmes on loan

Holmesy, 26, has made very few appearances for Luton this season. He has started five times in all competitions and made two substitute appearances. Overall, Peter has played 127 times for Luton, scoring 12 goals from midfield. Holmes is our longest serving player, having played for the club since the 2000/01 season. Despite this, he has never been able to hold down a place in the first team in any of his seasons at Luton. He was briefly released prior to the sacking of Joe Kinnear but returned on a free transfer soon afterwards. Holmes is the third player to depart from Luton in the transfer window, albeit only temporarily. He was an unused sub in the match against QPR, which hopefully means that Emanuel is fit again to take his place in the squad along with David Bell, who should take Vine's place in the squad with Morgan moving up front.
