Sol: Will hopefully recover fully from his stroke
Luton manager Mike Newell said: "Sol has made a bit of an improvement but he lost feeling in his left side and it has affected his speech. He has had an MRI scan.

"It might take six months before he makes a complete recovery."

"We have kept quiet until now but that puts everything into perspective, I don't want distorted reports or sensationalism.

"Although we are not making excuses for our performance, our thoughts are all with Sol. I am not sure if that has had an effect on the players but it cannot really have helped."

Sol Davis joined for a bargain £60,000 in 2002 from Swindon and has been a revelation filling the gap that Matthew Taylor left. His absence means that Newell may have to sign a defender on loan, with only two fully fit defenders. However, the main thoughts of Luton Town Football Club and the fans will be rightly with Sol Davis, and we would all like to wish him a very good recovery.
