Ex-Spurs youngster Danny Stevens scored the only goal of the game late in the second half after a mix up in the Oxford United defence. Luton fielded quite a strong side, playing seven players with first team experience. The most notable inclusion was that of target man Steve Howard. Stevo has missed the last three games after being sent off at Stoke but should win back his place in the side for next Saturday's home game against Wolves.

Other players with first-team experience who played in the reserves were Dean Brill, Peter Holmes, Leon Barnett, Russell Perrett, Steven O'Leary and Calvin Andrew.
