Newell linked with Coventry

Newell, who has been in charge at Luton for 3 and a half years, has been linked with various different clubs throughout his Luton reign. Clubs such as Blackburn, Derby, Leicester and Crystal Palace have all apparently been interested in securing his services, and even Everton reportedly, even though they haven't changed their manager in that period. Even though he is usually linked with clubs he used to play for, Newell has never played for Coventry and is thought to be in the running for the job along with people such as Gary McAllister, Richard Money at Walsall and Nigel Worthington. However, the compensation that Coventry will have to pay Luton may be a stumbling block for the struggling Midlands team.
