Morgan sent to Crewe on loan

Morgan, who is 24 years old, has made 21 appearances for Luton this season, scoring one goal in the 4-3 defeat at Bournemouth earlier this year. He has also had a spell at Southend on loan, where the winger scored three times for the Shrimpers. The former Reading winger hasn't been able to cut the mustard in League One, as despite clearly having the ability to succeed, his attitude is extremely suspect to say the least. As well as being involved in a loan deal with Southend earlier in the season, Morgan was meant to move to Leeds United in the summer, after both clubs agreed a deal for the winger to move, but Morgan couldn't agree personal terms with Leeds, apparently because he is earning more money at Luton. He is also contracted to the club until 2009 apparently, so although Crewe are relegation rivals, it would be good for us if he impressed at Crewe so that he can be offloaded on a more permanent basis, although wages are again likely to be a problem.

Morgan will not be able to play when Crewe visit Luton later on in March, although even Morgan could probably test our full-backs at the moment. The move for Morgan means that Darren Currie will probably play on the left wing for the trip to Southend tomorrow, but Paul McVeigh or Lewis Emanuel may also be in contention. David Bell could return to action as well. A few youngsters may be in contention for a place as well, and judging on recent performances from the midfield, I doubt that few fans would be too unhappy about them playing.
