Luton Reserves win at Southend

Both players have been out of the squad recently due to injuries. However, Sol Davis played 75 minutes before being substituted and Peter Holmes played 80 minutes, so both players will probably be in contention for first-team action soon.

Another player who played today that might also feature in the first-team soon is left-winger Dean Morgan. Dean started the season off with impressive performances as well as impressive goals against Southampton and Stoke. Morgan scored twice for the reserves today with one free-kick and a last minute penalty. Morgan apparently looked dangerous every time he went forward, and it looks like he has made his point to manager Mike Newell, who has played Ahmet Brkovic out of position on the left recently. Other first-team players in action were Leon Barnett, Dean Brill and new signing David Bell.
