Luton fan keeps Ashes hopes alive

England bowled Australia all out for 244 in the Third Test of the cricket series in Perth. Monty is playing in his first Ashes test for England and became the first England bowler to take five wickets at the Perth ground, taking the wickets of opener Justin Langer, fellow spinner Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist for a duck. Monty, 24, was born in Luton. Panesar is the first Sikh to represent a country other than India at test cricket level. His family still live in Luton and Monty himself is a self-confessed Luton fan and was on the pitch last season in the home victory against Ipswich. Congratulations Monty.

Also playing well out of England's bowlers were Steve Harmison, who took four wickets, and Matthew Hoggard, who took just the one. England's hopes were hampered with the loss of Ian Bell (not a Luton fan and not related to David Bell either) for a duck.
