Injuries and suspensions hit Town hard

Chris Coyne, who is one appearance away from his 200th for Luton, will miss tonight's clash and Friday's game with league leaders Reading due to a knee problem. Leon Barnett will probably play in his absence. New signing David Bell also has a knee problem picked up on Saturday at Deepdale and will miss tonight's match. This will probably mean a return to midfield for Enoch Showunmi, who most fans agree tries hard enough but who doesn't have the midfield ability for this division. Alternatively, Mike Newell may opt for Peter Holmes in midfield but Holmesy is short of match practice after a spell on the sidelines.

Marlon Beresford will probably miss tonights game as well. The veteran keeper got sent off on Saturday and will have to serve a suspension, although the club are appealing against it. However, an overturning of the red card is unlikely and Dean Brill will probably start.

Keith Keane is on international duty and will not be able to fill in at left-back. Paul Underwood will miss out due to injury as well, so Sol Davis is set for a premature return to action despite him lacking match practice. Warren Feeney is also likely to be absent, and Paul Hughes will also miss the Cardiff game due to injury, which will come as a great blow to all Luton fans.
