The 28-year-old become the first Luton Town player to score in eight consecutive games. Howard has scored four goals so far this season, and he scored five goals in the last four games that he played in last season.

Only four Town players have matched Stevo's seven game consecutive scoring run in the club's history, these being Andy Rennie in 1928-29, Jack Ball in 1934-35, Joe Payne in 1936-37 and Jessie Pye in 1952-53. There is a slight difference in the records, that being the four players named above scored in consecutive Town games, where as Howard's record is in consecutive games for himself, but not the club as he missed the final game of last season through suspension.
Howard's goalscoring run has seen him jump to sixth position in the Hatters all time post-war scorers list with a strike rate of 70 goals in 143 appearances, a highly impressive ratio of a goal every other game.
