Davis training again after stroke

The 27-year old left-back suffered a stroke on the team coach on the way to a match at Ipswich at the end of October. After that Luton went 7 games without getting any points, and Sol wasn't expected to return to action for at least six months. However, he has made excellent progress since then, despite some doubts that he may not even be able to play professional football again. Sol has been a crucial player for Luton over the last four years. He has made 169 appearances for Luton in total, most of them starts, getting himself sent off four times. He has scored just twice in his career for Luton, both times in the title winning campaign of 2004-05. When on top form, virtually no right winger in the division is able to get past Sol, who brings a steadiness to the team, and consistency. He is also getting less and less red and yellow cards, which is important for Luton. Since his stroke, the left-back position has looked a lot weaker, with Emanuel not quite filling the void left by Davis. All Luton fans will be hoping to see him back in action soon, although the most important thing is definitely him making a full recovery from his stroke.

After his first training session, Brian Stein said "Sol did the whole session. He thinks he can be back on the pitch in three weeks, but we have to be careful with him."

"Sol wanted to train last week. We have to keep him in check, because he wants to do too much.

"He is wholehearted in everything he does, and his attitude during this spell speaks volumes about him. We are very pleased with him."
