Carling Cup draw

After two matches against Sunderland and Charlton at home that saw Luton overhaul higher division teams, the club will either be hoping for a money-spinning match against a well-placed Premiership team, or a match that means the team has a chance of making the quarter-finals. Considering that Luton are the only team out of the bottom two divisions that have made it to the 4th Round, it is unlikely that there will be many clashes that Luton will be favourites for. There are 16 teams left in the draw, who are as follows:

Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham United, Everton, Blackburn Rovers, Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur, Bolton Wanderers, Coventry City, Blackpool, Sheffield United, Cardiff City, Leicester City, Luton Town.

The draw will be made at 12.15pm tomorrow on Soccer Saturday. Other than Luton, the main "giant killers" are Coventry City and Leicester City. Coventry beat Manchester United 2-0 on Wednesday thanks to goals from Maltese player Michael Mifsud, and although Man United fielded a weakened team, it still contained six full internationals, including expensive summer signing Nani. Leicester City overcame an almost full-strength Aston Villa side 1-0 at Villa Park, thanks to a goal about 15 minutes from time from Matty Fryatt.
