Brill on emergency loan to Gills

Main choice Gillingham keeper Kelvin Jack has picked up an injury, which means that the 30-year old keeper is out of Saturday's match against Yeovil Town. Brill, 21, has been called in for just one week due to FA rules on loans outside the transfer window. Gillingham will have the option of extending this period after the first week if they still want Brill. Brill has made 15 appearances for Luton, including two this season, where he failed to impress in goal in the absence of Beresford. The short term loan of Dean Kiely means that Brill will be surplus to requirements at Luton until at least Christmas, maybe longer if Kiely's loan is extended, as he obviously doesn't want to go back to Pompey judging on what he has said about them. Gillingham have another ex-Hatter in their squad as well. Duncan Jupp, who had a short spell under Kinnear at Luton, has made 24 appearances for Gillingham, with just 5 at Luton and failing to impress anyone at Kenilworth Road.
