Ex-Luton manager Fuccillo becomes Leicester scout

Fuccillo joined Luton when Ricky Hill returned to the club to manage in 2000. Hill was given the sack in November of the same year after failing to make a positive impact. As a player, Bedford-born Fuccillo, 50, joined the club in 1974, making 180 appearances in all competitions and scoring 27 goals. However, as a manager Fuccillo didn't last anywhere near as long, nor did he have the same effect. Only four games out of fifteen were won, with nine defeats before he was replaced by Joe Kinnear. Fuccillo also managed Peterborough with only a marginally better record in 1992-93.

Leicester City boss Rob Kelly said of the appointment: "He's done the job before, which I think is important. He has been a manager, worked at Peterborough, Luton and Everton, so he has covered the full spectrum of players from the top division to the lower reaches. I wanted the right person and that's why I have taken my time. It's a move forward and I am looking forward to working with him."
