Leary joins Walsall on loan as Newell bids for Hartlepool hotshot

Leary, 22, has signed for the Saddlers for the rest of the season in a move that could spell the beginning of the end of his Luton career. Leary has failed to break into the first team this season despite reasonable form in the reserves last season and the poor form of Luton midfielders recently, and with Leary below Nicholls, Robinson, Holmes, O'Leary and maybe even Danny Stevens in the pecking order, it could be time for Leary to move on. Leary also spent time on loan at Bristol Rovers earlier on in the season.

Also, despite revealing that he may not be able to spend much in the transfer window, Mike Newell has reportedly put in a bid for Hartlepool striker Adam Boyd. Boyd, 23, managed 29 goals last season in Hartlepool's push for promotion that saw them reach the play-off final. This season, Boyd has missed the last four months after a knee operation and has only scored twice. Unfortunately, our bid for Boyd may also see bids from other clubs such as Cardiff and Leeds who are also reportedly interested in the striker.

There is also speculation that Luton may also have made, or thinking about making a bid for Franchise defender Ben Chorley. Chorley was the player of the season for Milton Keynes last season and the former Arsenal trainee could add pace and depth to the back line that has been lacking recently. The move could be even more important after the injury to Chris Coyne in December. However, so far the only news is speculation.
